Advent is a time of holy mystery—a time to slow down and notice our longing for God.
With this free worship guide, families can create a space to notice important questions and bring them to God. For six weeks from Advent through Epiphany, this little booklet will guide your family through the scriptures, prayers and activities that help you “wait and wonder” together in faith.
Waiting and Wondering, this year’s Advent At Home booklet for families, focuses scriptures in which people have questions for God, questions people still have today. God welcomes our curiosity; God welcomes our questions. Wondering questions open up theological activity in even very young minds, laying a foundation for a trusting relationship with God.
- Print the single page version to use in your home.
- Use the booklet version to print a booklet for each family or household in your congregation.
- Print just a week at a time on a two-sided half-sheet and insert in the bulletin or stuff in church mailboxes.
This Advent season, we invite you to bring your questions and respond to God’s questions. “Ponder in your heart” like Mary or share your thoughts aloud.
Either way, enter a conversation with God and one another as you wait and wonder. May the Peace of Christ be with you!
